Ecuador Day 36

Sunday 10/18/2015:

Did not get around to updating the blog yesterday because we had a busy, busy day. It started with church in the morning and that was great as usual. It was fast and testimony meeting. As soon as the Bishop announced that it was time for testimonies, the entire stand filled up with people who wanted to bear their testimonies. It was really neat to see. The Bishop stood up and said that we would go through everyone on the stand, but no more. That still took well over the allotted time, but it was a sweet meeting with a great spirit. I love hearing others share their experiences and faith.

We also met a girl who is from California, here for study abroad for 6 months. She is studying psychology and as her internship, she is at FHC (Flor's last home) 3 days a week! Crazy. We did not run into her during our visit there, nor have we met her at church until this point for some crazy reason. So that was fun.

After church the kids and I took naps and cleaned up the house a little for the arrival of my mom and Jen. We were supposed to have Maria Dolores over for dinner, but she texted and said she was sick, so we didn't do that. The missionaries were also supposed to come over, but they called last minute and said that they could not find a member to come with them, so they couldn't come. I was going to feed them too, so needless to say, we had a lot of food.

We were invited to a little farewell party for Pablo at the church at 8 since he left for his mission to Quito today. We went to that and had a great time. His sisters sang and they showed a video of him and then he and his mom shared their testimonies. There was of course snacks. He is a great kid and we hope that our paths cross again someday! Maybe in Ogden :)

We had Ramiro pick us up at the church and we were off to the airport to pick up my mom, Jennifer, and Emma! We were super excited to see them. It sounds like everything went well with their flights, other than they forgot to buy me some much needed diet coke in Atlanta. Instead they bummed three cans off the flight attendant. That will have to do. :)

We didn't get home until about 11:30, so we got everyone to bed as quickly as we could from there. This morning came early for Mishell and me....on to that next!

The only picture I have of the day. So happy they are here!!
