Today we went for an afternoon visit to the Artesian Market. I don't really ever get sick of the place- there are stalls and stalls of handmade and native Ecuadorian items. We had an excuse to go this time- and that was because the hacky sack Jace bought with his money from Grandma and Grandpa when we went to Otavalo has disappeared somehow. He has been asking every day when we could get another one. So, today was the day. We successfully bought a new hacky sack and a few other things, including this awesome Ninja Turtle hat for Jace and a cute flower headband for Mishell. We then walked down the road to get some more money from an ATM and then wandered aimlessly for a while. We found our way to the old OSSO house where I had stayed as a volunteer.

Cute little place!! So many memories... |

We stayed on the left portion and the rest was a hotel-- I think the whole thing is a hotel now. The Hotel Rincon. |

I mean one shot is never enough...we need one from every angle, right? |
After that we walked aimlessly again for a while until it started to sprinkle. We found a little cafe and got some hot chocolate and churros (filled with chocolate- quite delightful, I must say) to get out of the rain. I wanted to see if the rain would stop or if it was going to pick up. If it was stopping, we were going to try to go to the Ecuador vs Bolivia soccer game. The stadium is not too far from where we are staying and this an elimination round for the world cup, so you know, that would be cool.
We stepped outside just as it began a major downpour. It was insane. This is supposedly the rainy season, but there has been on rain to this point. Well, today made up for that. I felt bad for the boys who had to play soccer in this weather, but that made the decision for us. I knew the kids wouldn't do well in the rain, so we hailed a taxi and came on home. I tried to find the game online for us to watch, but couldn't find it anywhere. Oh, well. We watched a movie instead.

But at least we looked cute in our matching bright yellow jerseys, right? |
Cuteness overload, right?!
