Jace normally looks like this: The concerned face...very typical of him
BUT- we have had progression to smiles, as seen below!
hmmm...I'm not so amused ok, I am kind of amused... getting closer... AND yay! Big smiles!!
The first time Jace smiled for real, I was making all sorts of goofy faces at him, every noise in the book, playing peek-a-boo, etc....and he sat there without even the slightest twitch of his face. Highly un-amused. Then I said to him, "Is Mommy crazy???" And he got the biggest grin on his face! Yep, crazy and proud of it.
Someone else is also quite happy around here...that would be Hallie. She had a good day because she finally earned her skirt! (okay to be fair, she earned all the stickers last week, but we just got around to going shopping for it today). She had to have 15 stickers on her chart before we got the skirt. She could earn one per day for good behavior. Believe me, there were days when there was no sticker awarded, not to mention I often had the urge to remove stickers, but she finally made it! We implemented this after Jace was born because of the increase in fits and all around negative behavior. I think it worked pretty well.
Little miss thing modeling her new skirt. She was trying to pose in the first picture before we decided that the couch was not the best place for the shoot. I can't believe how old she looks in the second picture! Ready for kindergarten, anyone??? Seriously, when did my 2 year old become 5? Now, onto the next great reward system for her. I am up for hearing any of your brilliant ideas that have worked well for your kids!

I cannot believe Jace is smiling already! We just barely mastered that around here... my word, we are already behind. Let the competition begin :) I am so happy for Hals and her new skirt. She looks beautiful in it. I have been thinking about our "chips" people... love it.
I love Jace smiling. He is getting big!! His cheeks are getting fat. What are you feeding him? His hair cracks me up also. I love the skirt. Hallie looks like such a big girl in it. I am proud of her for earning a skirt. It is much better than the black skirt she likes to wear I have to admit.
I love that sweet smile! What a cute boy. And Hallie is rockin' that skirt.
OH I love her skirt. I'm so glad she finally earned it. :) Those pictures are precious. Miss you guys I can't wait to see Jace smile.
Good job on the behavior modification intervention used on Hallie. (Yes I am a nerd and am intensely studying about this at school). I can't wait to see you guys!!
