Sometimes You Just Never Grow Up

My cousin Che' and I have always really enjoyed dressing up, ratting our hair, and wearing our Grandma's clothes (we won't discuss the time when we asked her if we could try on her bra. We were 8.) I was reading my very first journal ever today from when I was in the 5th grade. What a gem. Back then, we used to save our money during the year so that we could go to our Aunt Linda's house in Logan every summer. Oh, what joys. Here is just a sampling of what I wrote:
"I am back from Aunt Linda's. I had a very good time. Monday afternoon, we went to Lagoon. We forced Linda and Brad onto the log ride, even though we weren't supposed to, we splashed them soaked!!!! Next, Tuesday, we went to the mall. We got kicked out of ZCMI for trying on the men's cologne. Che'Lyn clogged for an old man, Cortney counted her money on the floor in the middle of it, and we were paging each other. Thursday we drove home. It wasn't a normal drive. All us girls ratted our hair way up! Linda pulled over so we could spray hairspray outside. Then we ate at Taco Bell like that. Linda and Brad were very embarrassed. Then when we got home, we put on bell bottoms with our hair still up."

Ah, the good old days. I wish I had those pictures handy. Another time, we dressed up as bag ladies and pulled a wagon with treasures over to our Aunt Mari Ann's house. She didn't want to claim us, either.

Not to worry, we haven't grown up yet. This picture is from the last time we were at Grandma's house just about a month ago. We probably won't grow up anytime soon, so fam, don't hold your breath!

PS. The winners from the last post are my sister Jen and Lindsay B. You both win.... a fantastic game night with us when you are in Provo next Jen and when you move back Lindsay! Aren't we so nice? The groceries were just over $30.

I have been laughing for five minutes over this. Remember fred, ned, jed, and red! Or the time we convinced Brent Wright Jennifer was old enought to date, and he was flirtting it up with her, and of course you can't forget the Beverly Hills girls that happened to be swimming at Green Canyon! We were so stupid, and apparantly you two still are! Just kidding!

Oh Kimmie, I love this post... we were/are stpuid, but didn't we always have so much fun together?! My memories with you could go on for days: riding bikes through a hail storm, almost "dying" on the river ( I still don't know how serious that event was because I have blown it up so HUGELY in my mind), stealing gas with Charlie, hiding mounds of easter eggs in a hole and covering it up, and writing homeade letters back and forth (being sure to reuse the same envelope everytime). I love you so much and am so grateful that I have had someone I could go to... UNBIFFABLES FOREVER!

All I have to say is that both of you were dropped on your head when you were little. We didn't want to tell you because we didn't know how much damage it actually caused.... but from the last picture, the damage was worse than we thought. I love the trips to Logan to stay at my house and for you all to eat huge amounts of cheese. I will need to put those pictures on my blog, yeah right, I forgot how to update my blog. Chow and by the way, Hallster is so cute. I want to pinch her cheeks right off.

I am laughing SO HARD!! Honestly, where did we come up with these things. Who can forget swimming at the sandbar with our "Grandma who has a black belt in karate?" Or the little concerts we'd work so hard to put on every year at Christmas and the only one who wanted to hear them was grandma. Everyone else wanted us to just sit down and shut up. And yes, the trips to Logan....many memories from those. Remember the girl with the hole in her swimming suit at the pool? Savage garden concert and not being able to find the car? Leaving Brad LOVE NOTES at the hacienda? Linda's little neighbor girl that we didn't particularly like? I could go on and on...thanks for posting!
