Adoption Status: FLIGHTS ARE BOOKED!!

Here's just a small update on where we are with the process.

I called to see if our I-800 was approved on the 19th of August and found out that it had been approved on the 17th! YAY!! That was really fast...about 2 weeks from they received it (Aug 4).
From there, we waited for the National Visa Center to send us some numbers our agency needs to get M's visa application going. She has an appointment next week for visa picture, etc. At that time, the Article 5 is automatically issued. SO, our agency told us she feels good about us traveling the weekend of the 12th and getting there in time to start bonding the 14th. She cleared this with the child welfare authorities in Ecuador and soooooo, we have flights! YAY!!

We really, really, REALLY want/need to get out of there in a shorter time frame than 10 weeks (that's what it was last time). I am worried about this because the volcano is stirring down there and if there  could be a state of emergency if anything happens. NO....please pray with us for everything to be processed quickly and for us to get home. Devin, Flor, and Hals will come home after court. Still, they will be away from work/school for 3-4 weeks. Then we will rely on the kindness of family and neighbors to help with the kids after school until I get home. That's going to be hard on me. But my amazing cousins Carlie and Che have already volunteered to be here 3 days a week to get them off the bus and help with them until Devin gets home. I hardly even had to ask before they were working out a schedule. I love my family and that they always come through for us. They do so much for me and I am forever grateful. The other two days will likely be neighbor girls coming over to help. It will be hard to have our family split for that long too, but we have to do what we have to do. Someone has to get back to work :) and the kids really shouldn't miss that much school, but what do you do!?

Anyway- we are thrilled to finally be to this point. It was my dream to be able to be there in time for M's birthday- and we will make it just in time. I hope we can help make her first birthday with a family special for her.

Now off to find a place to stay...
