And a few other adventures

Doesn't it seem like we have done nothing but play, play, play all summer? Well, that's basically true. I am totally ready for school to start though, just for the record. Especially for Flor since she is so out of her routine and does so much better with consistency and routine. Anyway, one more month of summer and I'm sure we'll live it up!

So, a few other adventures for the month of July:

Lagoon:
We shelled out a billion bucks to go to Lagoon about a week ago with Mari Ann, Hailie and her friend, Carlie, Ryen, Jack, and me and my kiddos. We had a great time together even though it was super duper hot and the kids had a few melt downs. Oh, well. Hallie was an animal-- she seriously surprises me at how daring she is. She was just barely tall enough to go on all the rides, but ride all the rides, she did. I only rode two of the big rollercoasters (Wicked and the Spider) and she went on both of those plus a bunch more. She loved it. I was terrified, on the other hand. When did I become such a sissy? Jace and Flor rode a few of the kiddie rides plus rattlesnake rapids. We all had a lot of fun at Lagoon-a-beach, too. Great day, overall. It's something we've gotta do since we live so close now!

Love this lady

Check out Flor's face in the background! Ha, so cute!

And again

Aunt Carlie was nice enough to ride the terrible dragon rollercoaster with him

 Wicked:
I have a grand total of one picture of this! I got to go to Wicked right after Lagoon (thus I am looking just so fresh) with Jennifer and her sisters-in-law, plus a couple of their friends. Love the Yorks- they are always so awesome to invite me to things they are doing.

Anyway, I left Lagoon at like 5:30 and rushed the kids to Devin's brother Travis's house as he and Jenny had agreed to keep them for me while I went. It was super sweet of them (Dev was working of course). The kids had a great time with their cousins. Now that we live closer, we'll have to get together more often. Anyway, I changed and freshened up a bit there and rushed to meet the crew at Olive Garden for dinner. It was a subpar meal, but it was right across the street from the theater, so that worked out well. We then walked across to the Capitol Theater for the show. I absolutely love Wicked and could watch it over and over. This was my second time seeing it, the first being when we went in Boise right before Linda passed away. There were a few parts that I got emotional thinking about Linda during this show. It was amazing though and we had a great time. Thanks Jen and Yorks for inviting me!
 Salt Lake Bees Game:
We found out that every Monday night is "family night" at Smith's Ballpark in SL, so we decided to take the kids one night. For just $5 per ticket, we got in plus got a hot dog! Who knew? Not the best quality hot dogs ever, but hey, the kids didn't mind. They were also giving away coupons for free Skippy peanut butter and between Devin and I, we got 7 coupons...so we'll redeem those at the store and those tickets more than paid for themselves. Score!

We invited everyone from Dev's family to come along who could and Shawna and Alisa came with their kids. We had a great time. I seriously love baseball. One of America's best pasttimes for sure! The best part of the night was when I noticed that Jace was missing, so I looked down the row and saw him standing in front of a man we didn't know, talking his ear off, patting his belly and cheeks, and giving him a hug. Ummm....stranger danger?! Apparently he has none. I think the man was slightly amused and slightly confused at who this overly friendly three year old was. I think we'd better keep an eye on our kids a little better, huh?

Brylee was loving me because I had a bucket of popcorn. She went to town on it and licked every little bit of salt right out of that bucket at the end. So funny. What a cutie.

Not Pictured: Floating the River in Preston
Last week for the 24th, my Aunt Angela invited us to float the river with her and her family in Preston. We had a fantastic time. The kids and I floated in an inflatable boat and fared better than those in tubes. There were a few series of rapids that were so fun, but they ended up knocking some people out of their tubes. The only other mishap was when we got to the end, where we'd parked my car, for me to realize that I left my keys in Angela's car up top. UGH. Can I be any more brilliant? So Angela hitched a ride with some random ladies to the top and drove back down. The kids were starving by that point and the food was all locked in my car, of course. Next time, I'll think things through a little better maybe. We're grateful to be closer to Angela now too and look forward to more adventures with them! Unfortunately, I took zero pictures of that day. Oops.

Idahooooooooo

So when we're in Idaho, we really feel the need to pack in the fun, apparently. We left Relay at 6 am and slept until 11 at Jen's house. Hallie, Flor, and Sadie slept over at my mom's house and spent the morning with her while Jace and Brookie stayed with my dad and Sharon. It worked out great for us. :) We then woke up and got ready and headed to my Grandma's house for a b-day bash for Cortney and the traditional floating of the river. Always a good time. We then headed out to the sand dunes for a good old fashioned hot dog roast to celebrate Jack's birthday. The wind was quite intense right as we got there, but then it calmed down and we had a jolly good time. Idaho has some amazingly fun things to do. Love that place. Also love having two birthday parties, and therefore two cakes, in one day. YEAH.

That's diet coke she's raising to the wind, just in case you were worried...

Off to float

Best view ever.

The kids had a great time swimming/playing in the sprinkler while we floated the river.

Cute girls.

The thing on the left? yeah, that's an icon of my childhood. Jumping off that thing into the river was a great time. Mason and Carter have now taken over the tradition.

Devin, the baby whisperer, part one (Claire)

No but seriously, that view....Anyone want to go to Idaho?
On the way to the sands! YAY!

A few lovely portraits coming right up:

Now that is just cute. This is our miracle Charlie girl.

Flor actually loved her ride on this! YAY Flor!

BEST PICTURE EVER!!!! We only had to try a billion times, but check out Avery looking like a jolly little elf (on the left) and Hals...hahahahahahahahaha.

Carlie's amazing....

Further proof: Whipping her "wig" (as she calls it) in the wind

Happy birthday Jack! Thanks for being born, buddy.

Devin the baby whisperer, part two (Jovi). Isn't he the cutest?

Cute Claire sticking her head out the window to wave at all of us in the back. She is seriously the happiest, cutest baby.

This is how we all felt after our fun-filled two days, I think...
