The Jacer is 9 months!

Our good news about our adoption travel came on an exciting day-- the day Jace turned 9 months old! What? 9 months? Can he really be that big? Awww...my baby is not so much a baby anymore! Here are a whole host of pictures of him from the past month and a few little tidbits!

Jace is really into helping us with the mail (in other words...he is in charge). One day he couldn't decide whether it was more important to hold his mail or his bottle, so he compromised. Clever boy.

Jace and Hals are best friends. Hallie loves to entertain him and he laughs SO hard at her antics. He gives Devin and I courtesy chuckles sometimes, but he really thinks everything that Hallie does is hil-ar-ious. For example, the other day we were at the grocery store and she kept jumping up and down and every time she did, he just laughed and laughed.

Umm, it's sort of winter around here. Some days. Jace got Hallie's hand-me-down hat, so I thought turning it inside out would be better than the bright pink side. It still looks pink, though. Don't worry, we have now since invested in a more manly hat.

Such good buddies. Jace really enjoys swinging. It makes him laugh a lot.

One day during dinner, Jace kept reaching over and wanting to hold Hallie's hand. It was stinkin' cute. I really love that they get a long so well. They have a special connection, that is for sure.

Shhh...don't tell Devin he loves girl toys!

Jace just got his first haircut! My friend Jill was kind enough to cut it and he looks studly.

Things about Jace at 9 months:

*He is eating almost solely table food. He doesn't care for baby food as much anymore and just wants to eat what we eat. He loves pancakes, bananas, noodles, and yogurt, amongst other things.

*Jace loves to clap. He claps at everything. He entertains himself with clapping rather frequently. He loves to study his hands as he does (or otherwise, too). It's pretty cute.

*Jace is now army crawling. It is actually more like he gets up on his toes and pushes off from them versus really using his arms. He is still very slow-- but I think that is just a trait he might always have. Rolling over takes him like 20 minutes, he literally has to pause half-way through. I mean, let's give him credit...his girth is rather large, so I would probably need a rest, too!

*Jace feeds himself great. He has mastered the pincer grasp and loves cheerios, baby puffs, etc.

*Jace is still a great sleeper at night. He usually goes down between 6:30 and 7 pm and wakes up between 7:00 and 7:30 am. He does NOT do so well with naps anymore, though. HUGE bummer. He naps usually at 9 am for 45 minutes or so and then again at noon for an hour or two. He is usually done napping at 2 pm, which can make for a long afternoon sometimes when he hits his tired phase, but won't sleep. Argh!

*Jace has gotten a lot of teeth in the last month. He has his four top teeth in and his bottom two middle teeth. #'s 7 and 8 are coming in on the bottom now. Whoa. That's a lot of teeth.

We go to the doctor on Monday for his 9 month well-check. We will get his weight then, but I am guessing it is around 23 pounds. We just make them big! Skinny babies? Never heard of such a thing.
