This year, Travis and Jenny were in charge of the reunion. That means there are 5 years until we are in charge. We've already determined that we are going on a cruise our year. A kid-less cruise. You hear that Perrys? Start saving your pennies.
Anyway, we had a fantastic time, as usual. We did not camp out the night before due to Devin being at work and me not wanting to deal with the three children myself, but we showed up in the am Saturday to join the crew for the day's activities. We started off by going to a local walking/biking trail. Half the family biked and the rest of us went for a leisurely stroll until our feet could handle it no more (not to mention the heat!). We then went back to a park and played games such as kickball, horseshoes, and basketball before having lunch. After lunch we headed to the local rec center, where we swam the afternoon away. We then went back to Travis and Jenny's house for dinner and a fireside, followed by way too many desserts in celebration of Tyge's 16th birthday. My favorite part of the day was the fireside. Travis M. did a great job and his thoughts sparked some of my own and helped me clarify some things in my own mind that have been floating around for a while. There is just something really special about sharing testimonies and spiritual experiences in families that brings you closer together. I felt the fireside was really a bonding experience (minus Jace and Flor not really acting that nicely through it). Jana and Karl, plus Devin's parents were able to join us via Skype for the fireside portion. Isn't technology the coolest? I think so.
Anyway. we had a really great time all together as a family. I am grateful that my kids have cousins so close that they get to see and spend time with. Cousins make the best friends, at least that was my experience growing up and I hope for the same for my kids!
And of course, no post is complete without a million pictures. Here's a few of the best:
Jace's wiggle car was a real hit. Even the adults were taking it for a spin. Haha. |
This picture is totally staged- the kids had already gotten out and Tyge had his helmet off but put it back on and made an especially convincing face for the picture. Totally looks real. |
Girls vs. Boys kickball! |
The boys team is looking a little wimpy... |
Uncle Travis is Flor's favorite. She just loves him. As she should- he is really sweet with her. |
Apparently Flor was making the rounds for pictures... |
Insert swimming here: But I have no pictures of that. :)
Tyge is so good with the kids. It was his birthday and he spent the whole day entertaining crazy little boys without so much as a complaint. What a fantastic cousin. |
Yes, apparently Ren must make weird faces when the camera comes out. |
See? He's a good cousin. |
dance party! |
And....sharing his balloons until they were all gone. What a nice boy. Any 16 year old girls out there that need a date?! (Though Tyge says he already has 7 girlfriends. What's one more?) |
blowing kisses to grandma and grandpa on the computer |
This may have been close to when Flor drank both Alisa and Ren's diet cokes. Yeah, gotta love it. She was a bit jazzed the rest of the night... |
That's better, Ren |
Perry grandkids, grouped from oldest child's kids down to youngest child's kids. We're at the end because Jana unfortunately lives in North Carolina and couldn't make it. Boo. We missed them! |
Until next year!

Love it! But you forgot to narrate why Tyge's mother is blowing out his birthday candles...she doesn't want him making any birthday wishes?! lol! Wish we could have been there but fyi, if you do plan a cruise we are so there!! Even if it is just you, devi and us! :)
Oh we will be there Jana. Even if it mean we need to skip the Morris family's year for the family reunion so every one can have two full years to save up!! ;)
