The kids' Christmas present this year was a trip to Georgia for the Atlanta Braves opening week of baseball! We also did a bunch of other really fun things. We traveled with Jen and Steve and kids, our favorite traveling buddies. This trip may be my favorite we have ever taken, made more special by the fact that we didn't think we would actually make it after Jace's accident. He got out of the hospital just two days before we left and we felt extremely blessed to even be there.
Day one- we flew out late and got into Atlanta about midnight Wed.
Thursday, we woke up and loaded up our favorite kind of travel vehicle, the 15 passenger van, for a drive to the coast of Savannah.
When we arrived, we toured around old town and downtown Savannah for most of the day. It's a gorgeous and old city right along the Savannah River. Jace had to ride in the wheelchair we brought for a bit of the day, but that was no problem and we were glad he listened to his body. He did really well overall.
After touring around, we checked into our airbnb in the beautiful countryside and had pizza there since we were all beat from the traveling.
Here's some pictures of day one.
