Well well, time is just flying, isn't it? Our "little" guy is growing up so fast. It seems like he just turned one. Well, that was four months ago now. Crazy.
This kid is full of life. I was sure he was going to be a calm, mild child like his daddy. Not so. He has a wild and social personality. Here are a few things that Jacer is up to these days:
*We officially have a walker (finally!) It took a lot of prodding from Devin and I because quite frankly, he just prefers to crawl. He is just starting to choose to walk on his own. There is a little video at the end of one of his first times walking. This is always such a fun phase.
*Jace is very vocal when he wants something and his favorite thing to say is: "mom. Mom. MOM. moooooom. MOM. mom. MOMMMMMM...." You get the point. oh boy. Fun. He does NOT, however, say dad. Ever.
*Other words that Jace says: hi, hola, go, ball, tickle tickle (okay more like "ickle ickle"), hals, bye.
*Jace also uses sign language, though we never deliberately taught him to sign. He has picked up on the signs we use with Flor. The first sign he ever used was "potty." The story is pretty funny. I asked Flor if she needed to go to the potty and Jace came over and started waving his fist in my face. I thought it was a fluke, but every time the word "potty" has been mentioned since, he busts out the sign. Smart boy. He also does the signs for more, please, and thank you. His favorite sign is still potty, though, and he also uses it to mean "drink" now. As long as we know what he means, I guess!
*Jace has never been really cuddly, but lately he has been more loving, simply because he understands the requests for hugs and kisses. He loves to blow kisses and makes the sound "buh" each time to go along with it. I guess that is his version of "mwah". Pretty cute.
*Jace is very social as I mentioned. He spends his time in church making friends with everyone around him. He likes to wave and cheese it at whoever will make eye contact with him. He is quite the distraction sometimes in Sunday School.
*Jace has the most contagious laugh. It's a real belly laugh and the sound of pure joy. I love it.
*Favorites: being outside, eating, ripping pages out of magazines, pounding on the piano, slamming doors, playing in the dirt, baths, dancing, toys that make noise, his sisters, and blankets. He tows a blanket around whenever he can and particularly enjoys carrying it around in his mouth. He is not attached to any blanket in particular; any blanket will do.
We sure love this boy. Words can't even describe the happiness he brings into our lives. Happy 16 months Jacer! (and the countdown is on until he can go to nursery. WAHOO!!!)

Kim!! I just want to eat him up he is so flippin cute! I absolutely love the one of him in his church close and the one in his yellow shirt; he looks just like Hals! Also, I am impressed he would walk for a cheerio. Grady took something a LOT more sweet than that. :)
