Don't worry, I am actually being really productive right now too. I am listening to a mandatory training online (8 hours worth, yikes) while blogging and doing other things. Multi-tasking. Yes, please.
Anyway, this last week has been really crazy, but fun. My sister was here from Wednesday through Monday. We had a good time with her and Sadie. Chris's sisters Stephanie, Becky, and Cheilah also came on Wednesday and Thursday nights to stay with us as well. The five of us went to Women's Conference on Thursday and Friday at BYU. Devin got to babysit the girls. It was so amazing and so good to have a break and be spiritually fed. I enjoy these ladies so much; we had a wonderful time. I love that they include me despite me not even being related to them! So nice!
It rained on Friday and Steph and Becky used these homemade umbrellas (aka bags) on the long trek from the car to the Marriott Center. They were quite upset when they found out that I have umbrellas at home and that I also have a parking permit that would have allowed us to park a lot closer. Apparently I didn't see the need to think about either of these things. :)
Here we are at the Marriott Center. The speakers included all of the Relief Society General Presidency, the General YW and Primary Presidencies, and Elder and Sister Oaks at the closing sessions. Of course there are tons of sessions in between that you can choose from. We did well picking on Thursday, especially. There were some amazing classes.
Chris's cousins met up with us on the second day. I don't know them as well, but it was still fun to have everyone there.
Saturday we had a big party for my Uncle Lynn's birthday. Of all the places you can possibly eat in Provo/Orem, he chose Golden Corral. I guess he really is getting old! A bunch of family members came and a lot even came from Idaho. Let me just say that there is never a dull moment when Lynn is around.
Grandma decided to celebrate everyone's birthday who was born in May and that includes Hailie and Che'Lyn as well. So each of them got a little cupcake to blow out that Grandma so thoughtfully took from the dessert bar.
Speaking of Lynn, he has been helping us remodel our kitchen. He is a genius when it comes to building anything and everything. He builds sets for a living so it is perfectly handy having him around. We finally installed our new kitchen cabinets that have been sitting in his shop for 6 months. I am sure he is happy to have them gone! Now, we are working on the countertops, installing a new sink, installing a new dishwasher, and the finish work. It will be quite nice when done, or at least a huge improvement from what it was before! I will post before and after pictures when it is all said and done.
What this means though is that we have not had access to our kitchen for a week now. WAHOO! No stove, no kitchen sink. We have been eating everything from the microwave, crockpot, blender, and rice cooker. We have been eating only on paper products, except for major things, like the crock pot, and then those have to be washed in the bathroom. So fun! So while we have had all this company here, we have been improvising. It's kind of fun.
After all the birthday fun at the GC, the family all came over to see the progress in the kitchen and ended up staying for a few hours chatting. It was quite funny to see how many people we shoved into our little house. What can we say? Maybe someday we will have a large house where everyone can have their own seat!
Now, onto catching up on my loads of work. Wish me luck!

Thanks for letting us come crash, especially considering the fact that you don't have a kitchen. I can't wait to see it when it's done!
Our umbrellas were way cooler than any you could have had! It added to the experience :). We love ya and you are welcome to join us anytime- we see you as part of the fam...you poor thing....sorry! ;)
Well the good news is that you're way ahead of me as far as hours go. You're probably behind because I keep dumping my caseload on you! Thanks for all you've done for my clients. I owe you!!
It looks like you had all kinds of fun. I am happy that you all went.
Oh Kim, I think those are the greatest reasons to be behind in work! Looks like fun and I am excited to see pictures of your kitchen all done. By the way, have you tried the Reynold's slow cooker liners?? They make cleaning the crck pot so easy. You just take out the bag and throw it away and I usually will wipe down the inside of the pot. Do I sound like a salesman??
So... my Mom and I are absolutely convinced that you need to send Hallie's "old McDonald" video into America's Funniest Videos. We just watched it four times and laughed harder each time. She's so funny in it... But we get 30% of your winnings.
