*We didn't have a Christmas tree. My Grandma Strobel gave us her tree, but forgot to send the stand/pole where you hang the branches! We decided that next year will be the year of the tree.
*Devin and I set a limit of $30 that we could spend on one another! We actually came pretty close to staying within the limits too. Can you say creative shopping?
*I had NO idea how much candy to buy to put in our stockings. I have never had to stuff the stockings before. I'd say I went a little overboard. Judge for yourself (these are the leftovers!):
*We bought our last Christmas gift on Christmas morning at 6 am. We woke up before everyone in the house and snuck out without anyone knowing (except maybe our sister-in-law Jenny who was up with her 3 week old baby... oops!)
*On the way home that night, we were really craving ham sandwiches with the leftover ham that Devin's mom gave us from Christmas dinner. We realized that we didn't have any cheese, so we set out to get some cheese. Of course no one was open, but after visiting 4 stores (all closed) we finally found a gas station that had cheddar cheese sticks. They probably thought we were traveling and down to our last money because we bought 4 cheese sticks, 2 nut rolls (Devin loves those!), and 2 sodas. We also looked pretty down and out since we had been sledding earlier that day and our appearances had not recovered. See...
*Our most useful gift was food storage from Devin's mom. No lie. I have a little obsession with food and having food storage, thus I spend too much money on it. It wasn't really a Christmas gift, but Devin's mom gave us a bunch of their food storage because his parents are leaving on their mission in February. She gave it to us on Christmas day, so I am calling it a Christmas gift. We got 4 cases of canned food, some spaghetti and macaroni noodles, and some baking goods. This prompted me to go to Costco yesterday and buy more food storage. Food storage now decorates our room. Oh the joys of no storage space!

I love your Christmas facts...very informative! You can never put too much candy in your own stockings! I think I remember that you liked to color...you need to come color with my kids and you didn't say that Devin had colored his yet?? I think you look very cute in your car picture. I love a good food hunt in the car. YOu two are fun, you need to live a little closer so that we can hang out. And as for the food storage..good for you! you can never have too much of that either. And even though you don't have much storage space at least your shelves are neat and tidy. This way people won't come over and feel bad for you because they will know that you aren't starving. One last note..my fav. food storage find at costco is rice..30lbs for less than $10.
I loved your Christmas fun! I hope you are enjoying Idaho with the fam now. Your food storage looks yummy. That is one good thing to have an obsession with. Tell your mom-in-law thanks cause now I don't have to worry about you starving =) Kidding! Have a day!
