Stress levels

I think I sometimes unnecessarily stress myself out. My long lost roomie Camille got me addicted to what we called "planning our lives." This would consist of taking time every Sunday afternoon to sit down and schedule the upcoming week down to the hour of the activities and homework that we would pursue. Well I decided today that it was a good idea to not only plan this week, but to plan the rest of my life.

It turns out I got into my major this week, so I set out to determine exactly the course I need to get to that magic graduation date as speedily as possible. Someone needs to tell me not to do these things! So pretty much if I want to graduate on time I have to take 16 or 17 credits each semester all the way through. I can do that, right? But then I get thinking about how much time I am going to have to spend studying, on top of balancing work and social life (what social life?). And not to mention how much its going to cost. It gets a little overwhelming.

Life is for having fun right? It is for just going with the flow, letting things happen as they come, RIGHT, RIGHT??? So there is no need for me to worry about graduating when it is still 2 school years away! RIGHT?!?!?! Why am I so ridiculous?

NO! Life is not for having fun! Where did you get that ridiculous notion? As a matter of fact, I'm disappointed in you for being so lazy... you're taking TWO MORE ENTIRE YEARS to graduate?! My advice is to take 21 credits a semester (you'll need permission from the university) and pump that degree out in a year, hunny. Why drag your heels? Life is waiting to start once you graduate!!

...Um... Kim, just so you know I'm kidding. This is life now. It's not going to start in two years or even next week, cause it's already going. In the mean time try not to stress TOO much about what's going to happen in two years; you'll be suprised how much will change by then. I'm an obsessive, stressed-out planner just like you, but I had no idea how much I would change before I got this close to graduation. Most things you can't really plan on.

So... that and a $1.05 will get you a Slurpee at 7-11 (meaning that was probably worthless). I'll stuff it now.

People are more important than things.

By the way, I don't ever have stress...what's it like?

I didn't know freshman can graduate.

Kim, we are not allowed to stress in this family, unless accompanied by another member of the family. Kind of like how top ten lists are a group project (and by that I mean me and one other person). So please wait until I get back before stressing any more, so I can be there to tell you in person that everything is going to work out fine, and then get you a hot dog from 7-11.

Kel, you are great. You crack me up.
Oh Steffy, your ideas sound great, except, if I had to eat a hotdog that would probably add to my stress level while clogging my arteries at the same time.
Since when do I allow anonymous comments? That anonymous is going to haunt me till the day I die, I just know it.

I wasn't anonymous, but I wish I had made that comment. Anonymous, I salute you!
